This gorgeous color palette is awesome to work with!
I wanted to combine the W&P color palette with a theme or a specific brand.
This month I used the theme 'leaves' from the November challenge at
Scrapki-wyzwaniowo to create my background, and I used die cut leaves around my picture.
I was inspired to make my die cut leaves from 7 dots studio papers (Yuletide-Chestnut) with the gorgeous woodgrain pattern.
The theme for the October challenge at
7 Dots studio is 'wood grain texture'.
I didn't 'just' want to use the woodgrain paper as my background paper, I wanted to do something else with it. My thoughts were: Wood is made from a tree, a tree has leaves, so I die-cut my leaves from the woodgrain paper. I also stamped the butterflies on the woodgrain paper, and put a piece of the paper behind my picture.
I also used 7 Dots studio chipboard pieces 'Soulmates' , sprayed them white, cut them in half, and positioned them behind my flowers.
I would like to enter my layout for both challenges.
The making of my background was very simple: I used black cardstock, a leave patterned-stencil (12 x 12) and sprayed distress spray stain 'brushed pewter' on it here and there.
After it dried, I mixed mica powder 'teal' with light paste and used a stencil to apply it on the paper, where my picture was going to be positioned. Let it dry again.
Than positioned and glued down my (painted) chipboard pieces, photo and other embellishments, covered my photo and splattered with the distress spray stain, with the mica powder, and with some white ink. After that I added the pearls.
Thanks for visiting!
Love, Sanderijn
