Leave footprints, take only memories...

Hi everybody,

Here is my first, more masculine layout...
I have made this as a gift for my husband, for father's day.

I was inspired by the gorgeous color combinations from Mixed Media & Art and Words & Paintery challenges, to combine these rusty, earthy and grungy colors with the new challenge from More Than Words. The challenge is Father & Steampunk, and it combines so perfectly with the two color moodboards, it gave me such an inspiration boost!

I took this picture in the hospital, a day after our little girl was born...
This picture of my daughter and her father, is one of my most treasured pictures...

The steampunk part was a real challenge for me. I don't use steampunk related embellishments very often on my projects, but when new Hazy Days papers from 7 Dots Studio arrived, it suddenly all came together so well.

I made a 'masculine' layout, with some steampunk items like the Dusty Attic chipboard clockwork in the background and the Finnabair metal stars, but I still kept it very elegant and soft, so it would fit this page perfectly.

I want to thank More Than Words and Di Garling, for the honour of having me as a design team member. I will step down after this month, and this was my last project for them, as a DT member.
Thank you for watching!

Simplicity watercolor layout for Lindy's Stamp Gang

Hi sweet followers!

 Sometimes less is more, right?
It's my turn on the blog today at Lindy's Stamp Gang, and I decided to create a watercolor simplicity layout this time.

I started with lots of water on my heavy watercolor paper and drips of Starburst Azure Sea Asters

When that layer was dry, I added a second layer with a mix of Starburst Rusty Lantern Lime, Ponderosa Pines Olive and Moon Shadow Gossamer Gold.

I used Embossing Powder Tilt-a-wheel teal in combination with the wonderful background stamp 'Vintage Script' from Stampotique to give a little bit of texture to the background.

'Angelic' mixed media layout

The month May is the month where we celebrate mothersday.
For me this means something to treasure, because God has given me the most precious gift of all: a child...
In my situation particulairly, it didn't happen 'just like that'.
I feel so very blessed, to have this beautiful little girl in my life, who makes my heart full of joy every day. And yes, motherhood is not always easy, believe me, but seeing her growing up, makes it all worth while...

Seeing this photo of her, sunlight on her hair, she almost looks like an angel... The only thing I want for her, is to grow up in peace, having a loving home, where she feels safe and free to follow her dreams...

The new collection Dreamscapes from 7 Dots Studio is exactly the paper for pictures like these.
I really love the pattern of the paper and didn't want to do too much mixed media works on it, so I decided to create a soft, elegant and clean layout.
Because sometimes one picture says it all.

I was asked to be guest designer at Scrap The Girls this month.
I used the moodboard's theme 'motherhood' (and what that means to me) as a starting point for my layout.

I have let myself be inspired by the gorgeous colors from the moodboard from The Dusty Attic this month, and used some of the amazing new release chipboard and stencils.

And here is a video tutorial of the process:

Embrace your inner child...

Hi everybody,

I have to say, those new collections from 7 Dots Studio, they are heavenly gorgeous... You have to check them out, if you didn't already...?

And deciding which paper to pick first, that was difficult! But I let myself be inspired by the new May moodboard from Berry71bleu, and I had this picture of my daughter, running from the hill, between the flowers, and it matched so perfectly with the paper from Hazy Days, I made this happy layout.

I used the birds on a wire stencil first, with white gesso. When it was dry I took a blend of yellow mica, acrylic paint and light paste to add the chevron stencil pattern.
Then I stamped the grungy clear stamp from Hazy Days with black gesso just randomly over it.
Love this textured, grungy background, it gives so much oppertunity to get messy!

I build up my page with lace, cheese clothe, tags and die cuts elements.
I finished with adding words stickers, flowers, pearls, glass beads, the title flair and turquoise ink splatters.

Mixed media canvas 'Lovely'

Hi everybody,

I was asked to be guest designer at Mixed Media & Art this month, and I created a mixed media canvas, based on the moodboard, with lovely products from The Dusty Attic, Lindy's Stamp Gang, Accent Scrapbooking and Prima Marketing/Finnabair.

This canvas was a gift for my aunt.
She lives next door, and her appletree has such gorgeous blossoms.
Some of the branches hang halfway in my garden, and I took some pictures of them two weeks ago.
The pictures inspired me to make this canvas.

First I used white gesso with the gorgeous new rose stencil from Dusty Attic on the canvas.
I painted my chipboard pieces with white gesso too.
Next I builded up my canvas with lace, chipboard, art stones and metal flowers.

I covered the whole canvas with clear gesso.
When it was dry I added Lindy's Rusty Lantern Lime and Cotton Candy Pink sprays with a brush, and added water with a spray bottle to let the ink spread over the canvas. I dried with the heattool.

Next I added a layer of white gesso, only dabbering it with a distress ink tool, not covering the whole canvas. I added some Dusty in Colour Pesto and Pink too here and there.

I started adding more lace, wire, flowers, the pictures and some flairs.
As a last step I glued down my title and some rhinestones.

Spring is in the air...

Hi everybody!

Brand new challenges are up and running on the blogs from Lindy's Stamp Gang and More Than Words. I decided to combine the two of them, because they complement each other beautifully.
I absolutely LOVE this color combination, I wanted to use all the colors, so my layout is full of Lindy's Sprays, embossing powder and magical powder.

I was inspired by the word MOTHER to use this brand new, gorgeous picture of my daugther, because I can not describe how proud I am of her and how she manages to make my heart jump up and down from joy from time to time...For the creative challenge I don't need any explanation right? Let's make your project bloom! Well that's exactly what I did! I took this picture last week, in springtime, so that's why I decided to use that 'theme' in combination with the flowers... my daughter makes my life bloom in any way!
