Love, believe, dream... forever...

Hi everybody!

I have created a mixed media canvas with a picture of my little girl.
This picture of her makes me feel so blessed and proud. I hope she will always be able to love, believe and dream... forever!

The golden mandala's and the teal, blue and purple colors were my biggest inspiration from the moodboard from Mixed Media & Art. The watercolour effect made me want to create with water and inks, and lot's of white space. I was also inspired by the round photo from the sketch from the MM&A moodboard.

I started with white gesso on the canvas, and when it was dry I added the Mandala stencil pattern and the Threaded Beads stencil with modelling paste.

When it was dry I added a second layer of white gesso.
Meanwhile I painted the Swirl Vine also with white gesso and glued it on the canvas.

I used Lindy's Stamp gang sprays to give the canvas blue, teal and purple colors.
I dripped the colors on the canvas and used a water spray bottle to let the inks move around. Some tissue paper here and there to remove some of the ink.

Next step, another layer of white gesso, dabbering gently with a distress ink tool.
As a finishing touch I used Finnabair Vintage Gold wax to give every item and the texture on the canvas, more dimension and depth.

I loved how the mandala pattern turned out with the gold wax on it.

Inspire...Live for today

Hi everybody!

It's been a while since I have blogged, I took a little summer break ;)

I have created a mixed media piece with products from 7 Dots Studio, Dusty Attic , Lindy's Stamp Gang and Finnabair.

I really love those rusty and earthy colors, mixed with some shades of green and blue. The car lights in the picture from Lindy's were also my inspiration for the lightbulb in my project. I used the quote 'live for today' to strengthen the word 'inspire'.

My project is about art.
How we create to inspire. Inspire myself to never give up, to live for today, but also to inspire others and hopefully let them feel uplifted and confident to live their life, follow their dreams...

I used the paper from Hazy Days 'Zip' in the frame, to give it that worn, rusty look. When it was glued down, I put a thin layer of clear crackle over it. When it all was dry and crackled, I brushed gold mica powder over it, so the crackles were more visible and shiny.

I painted the flowers with Lindy's Moon Shadow Mist spray Gossamer Gold. The wings and fabric tail are sprayed with Lindy's Starburst Tibetan Poppy Teal.

When they were dry I brushed some Finnabair wax 'Aged brass' and 'Lucky emerald' over it, some gold mica powder and ultra fine glitter. Then I started to glue the pieces on top of eachother, mixed with metal embellishments, creating a triangled composition.

I painted the lightbulb with golden sparkle paint 'Dragon's eye' at the backside, before glueing it down. This way it lights up very bright.

Thank you for visiting!
