Mixed media tag for Lindy's Stamp Gang

 

Hi everybody!

 

It's my turn on the blog today at Lindy's Stamp Gang and I created this mixed media tag.

 

I started with using two pieces of paper for the tag, on the first I used a honeycomb stencil and added modelling paste, and when this was dry, I sewed the second paper on the back of the first. This way the tag has more body and can 'handle' the sprays better.

 

 

Second step: Add the Starburst sprays Screamin' Banshee Black and Frozen Jack Frost.

Use a brush and dip the brush into the jars of sprays, and paint the edges with Afternoon Delight Denim and Dark Chocolate Truffle. Spray another layer of Screamin' Banshee Black or Frozen Jack Frost if desired.

 

To make the flower: use black gesso to paint it first, than spray Afternoon Delight Denim and Screamin' Banshee Black on it. When the flower is dry, use white gesso to paint the edges a little bit.

 

Add lace, flowers, flair and other embellishments. Poor some glitter on it to finish with some sparkle!

A fairy tale mind....

 

Hi everybody!

 

Here is my mixed media layout 'A fairy tale mind...'

 

I created this layout for my blogpost at 7 Dots Studio, and because I really loved the moodboard and sketch at Mixed Media & Art February challenge, I based my layout on these gorgeous, inspiring pink, black, white and golden glitter colors. I would like to enter my layout for this challenge.

 

The angel statue in the picture, is a gorgeous statue that stands in sombody's front yard in my village. I always love the elegancy it sends out. I took the picture a couple of years ago, but I still love it. It reminds me of something mysterious and looks like it comes from a fairy tale...It's angelic and graceful... just like the pictures in the moodboard.

I used the wonderful collections Cotton Candy Dreams and Writer's Block from 7 Dots Studio, chipboard pieces from The Dusty Attic, pink watercolor magical shaker and starburst sprays from Lindy's Stamp Gang and 49 and market gorgeous new shimmer and shine flowers.

Mixed media canvas 'together'

 

Hello everybody!

I was asked to be guest designer at Words & Paintery this month, and here is my mixed media canvas, created with the color combination from this month.

 

Just a quick step by step how I created this canvas:

 

I first added texture with modelling paste and a stencil.

Second I coated the whole canvas with white gesso.

 

Third I added my Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst sprays with a brush and sprayed with a water bottle to move the inks here and there.

I used Rusty Lantern Lime, Sassy Sapphire and

Cotton Candy Pink.

 

When all was dried with a heattool, I build up my canvas with some textured thread, flowers, picture, wire and ofcourse some rhinestones, ultra fine glitter and a lovely flair from Accent Scrapbooking

Picture Perfect...#Angel

 

 

Hi everybody!

 

I am here today to share my layout based on the moodboard for

Dusty Attic challenge February

 

 

Even though I love the retro pics, and the soft pastel colors, you all know I have a hard time creating with those colors... It took me a while to get the result I wanted. But when I added the 49 And Market flowers, it finally came together, that was just what was missing!

 

 I have used the sketch as a base, and worked from there. So it isn't exactly the sketch, but it comes near...

 

 

I painted the chipboard pieces with Dusty in colour paints, and as you can see, I cut the Ornate Frame in half so I could create another kind of composition with it.

I used the gorgeous Flower Power Stencil with light paste and golden mica powder to create my flowered background.

Mixed media canvas 'My valentine heart'

 

The february color challenge at Lindy's Stamp Gang is so full of romantic colors I just had to create something Valentine related...

 

So here is ... My valentine heart...

 A canvas made with texture paste, starburst sprays, gesso, fabric, shaker powder and a tiny metal embellished detail...

 

 

When the magical shakers came out, I immediately had an idea to use them on fabric.

And what an amazing result they give!

 

Just sprinkle a little bit of powder on the fabric, spray with your waterbottle, and full color appears...magical!

 

I tried to keep this canvas minimalistic and wanted to create something that catches the eye immediately.

(I actually did three canvasses, but the first two ended up in the bin...My first idea was slightly different but I couldn't get it to work the way I wanted to....)
