Layout 'Believe in Miracles' for Prima PPP & BAP challenge June

 

Here is my layout for the Prima Marketing June challenge PPP and BAP.

 

The picture is from my belly when I was 34 weeks pregnant (in 2009) with my daughter. The heartshape is made with hands from me and my husband. The title is 'Believe in Miracles' because that's what my daughter is to me, the most beautiful and precious miracle in the world... The two butterflies symbolize my two miscarriages I have had before I became pregnant with my daughter. I used three circles because of me, my husband and my daughter.

 

I was inspired by the colors orange, turqouise, gold, black and olive-green (shamefully the olive-green have become a different shade in the pictures, than it is in real). In the paper from the Debutante collection is a shade of red, and offcourse the beige-white color, which are also colors from the moodboard. The sketch with circles from the BAP is used for the composition. I loved combining the moodboard with the sketch.

Mixed media canvas 'Dream'

 

 

I have created a new mixed media canvas. The funniest thing happens when I am creating mixed media. I always come to a point (usually after put on the black gesso and start to use the others paints) when I'm thinking: Oh no! I'm totally screwing this up. But when the moment comes I can let go of that feeling (thinking, Oh well, I throw it away when it really sucks) and at that point I get somehow an idea and it works! After that it is so much fun, building up layers of paint....

The canvas was created just because I had this idea in my head using the pocket watch with and item inside. The title 'dream' and the stars, I don't know how, but I didn't really thought about combining those, it just happened. And in the end, almost finished, I was painting the angel, giving it golden mica wings, I saw she (or he?) has her eyes closed......didn't even notice that before! So all came together like it was ment to be....

Layout 'Thankful' for Prima BAP June challenge and tutorial!

 

I loved doing this layout. Had so much fun thinking, composing and creating it. I used the lovely new papers from Prima, Garden fable and Debutante. I have made it for the Prima Marketing June Challenge BAP and the Dusty Attic June challenge. The moodboard from Dusty attic inspired me to use this picture, my daughter wearing a red dress standing in a green field...The BAP sketch from Prima inspired me to use the circels and a title, with several journaling stickers....

I was inspired by this moodboard from Dusty Attic to use this beautiful picture of my daughter, and decided to use the colors green and red all over the page. The strawberry has bubbles on it, that inspired me to use the circel-sketch from Prima Marketing.

 

 

 

 

 

And here a little tutorial for you:

 

 

Step 1: Add light paste using a stencil. Splatter with red ink.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 2: Cut out several flowers and butterflies from design papers.

 

 

 

Step 3: spray and paint chipboard pieces

 

 

 

 

Step 4: When light paste is dry, add chipboard with Tacky glue. Add flowers with 3D glue dots to create a 3D effect.

 

 

 

 

 

Step 5: Add some pieces of grey cardboard behind the picture, to create 3D effect.

 

 

 

 

 

Step 6: Embellish all you want! Here is the result:

 

 

 

Layout 'Somekind of Wonderful'

 

This layout is inspired and made for the challenge of June from Lindy's Stamp gang in combination with beautiful laser cut chipboard products from Scrap Unlimited.

 

I was inspired by the moodboard below, the colors: grey-silver, antracite and purple. I used the sprays Hibiscus rose and I'm late, I'm late slate.

I first used several stencils with modelling paste to create texture on my background. After drying applying several layers of I'm late slate and little bit Hibiscus. I sprayed all the chipboard pieces with these sprays from Lindy's also.

Layout 'Joy' for Scrap around the World challenge 26 June

 

My entry for Scrap around the World challenge 26 June. It is so motivating to use moodboards, I use colors I would never choose by first hand, I really get challenged so it works pretty good for me!

I used the glass cabochons from Scrap unlimited (picture below).

 

And here is the moodbaord, love every detail of it, I used the arrows, the colors minty-green and salmon-peach, the flowers, the roud shapes...and I transfered the word happiness into the word joy. Because that is what my daughter gives me every single day...JOY!

'Unable to Fly'

 

Here it is....my FIRST Finnabair inspired project. I hope you will take the time to read the story behind it. It is very personal, but I am going to share it anyway...The title is 'Unable to fly', and that is actually about me. This is how I feel for a very long time. I have ups and downs, but the little angel inside the glass bowl is me. The angel is my soul and the glass bowl is my head....

 

 

About the canvas: This is the first time I used BLACK gesso, and boy it was scary!! Painting the whole thing black. I never ever thought I could create something beautiful out of it anymore.....but...sprays, inka gold, more sprays, golden acrylics iridescent paint, glass glitter and microbeads finally did their job...Here some detailed pictures:
